:::HEY EVERYONE:::
It was time to change the theme again! Welcome to the awesome world of ....Romeo X Juliet!
I absolutely love this anime to be truthful. It is actually nothing like you would expect from a Romeo and Juliet story. Well, of course they fall in love and what not, but the whole fantasy and sci-fi themes that come into this new futuristic world have completely blown my mind away. I love what they've done with Juliet's character as well. I urge you to give this a try ^^
:::NEWSFLASH:::
We are still waiting on the answer back from SGA. Hopefully it will be soon. I'm dying in anticipation.

:::QUESTION OF THE WEEK:::
So this anime plays on the old old tale of Romeo and Juliet. Does that turn you off to the anime that it is a theme that has been done over and over again? Or is the fact that it has more of a twist and complicated plot line intrigue you? Is this the same for other anime or manga material?
As for myself sometimes I'll stray to the familiarities of anime and manga in terms of plot line or genre because I'm just in that kind of mood. I actually showed this to a friend of mine who isn't that too into anime and it is now her favorite series. She was a bit sketchy about watching another Romeo and Juliet themed thing, but she loved it in the end. I mean, there are so many plot lines where you can almost tell how it is going to end or what the basic sketch line is, but I love watching them to find out how they get to those points in the plot. It's so interesting.

I love the idea of a Romeo and Juliet theme. This is one of my favorite plays, and seeing a new twist on it is kind of exciting. I really like when people take a tired old tale and bring something new to it. It keeps the story fresh and alive, and helps to assure that everyone has a chance to enjoy such a beautiful classic.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I love the theme. Secondly, I absolutely love this series. Admittly it's one of only a few that actually held me so much that I cried during the last few episodes...which is something I think that is a bonus for the anime creators/directors; that they can emotionally involve their audience and whatnot. But that doesn't really answer the question does it? Lol
ReplyDeleteThe idea of taking an old story and repeating once again could be 'dry' and annoying but I think that this series, and the creativity of those Japanese minds, has really amped up the magical elements of this romance. I mean I really give them credit for their creativity on such an old old tale. I could keep going on and on but it's now midnight and sleep beckons me.
