So our first meeting? Cool, huh?Every Monday, same time, same place!
Now the theme for this week is ....Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex !! !! !!
This is actually an anime that I would have loved to continue on with. I first saw this on Adult Swim and loved the whole Sci-Fi mixed with detective and cop work. There is also a movie of this called The Age of Innocence ( More Info...) which actually hit theaters. I want to continue this series soooo bad. Hopefully I get some time in to do that.
FUN AND INTERESTING FACT!!
Astro Boy (More Info...) which is storming theaters as we speak, is one of the most original anime and manga. As in this was the start of anime as we know it. Like really, this stuff goes wayyyyyy back. I encourage you all to go see it. I know we're poor and busy college students so if you don't have the money or the time, no worries. Just thought you would like that awesome fact about a movie out now.

Well, since we had our first meeting and covered a lot there, there really isn't much to ask in terms of questions. But I do want to know how you guys feel about the club and if you have any input/ suggestions to make as of now.-Mary-Kate-

(an aside: some other sites to find anime are actually from the companies themselves; being a huge funimation and viz media fan i recommend checking out their sites. i know funimation uploads its lisenced anime weekly in both dubbed and subbed form. as for viz, depending on the show, provides a direct link to that shows website; some of their stuff can be found on hulu.com and such.)

I totally agree with your thoughts on Ghost In The Shell. I loved the episodes that I actually did watch, especially the Stand Alone Complex season. That was so good. I also have to continue on with that because I know it's very popular and demands attention, I guess you could say.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about the formation of this club, and I know most all of the members are definitely anime and manga fans to the core, as we could tell during the meeting. I'm looking forward to watching some anime/reading some manga that I've never seen or even heard of. Should be fun!
